Just like a ceiling the inside of a front door can be a great place to experiment with colour. It doesn’t always have to be the same as your trims. The colour you paint on the inside can really add to the mood and feel of your entryway. Just like a pop of colour on the outside, the inside of your door can be just as playful. Of course the external colour needs to translate in some way with the interiors (more often than not the inside of your front door works perfectly in your trim colour - mine does). However, If your hallway lacks a certain something then maybe some colour is worth a look. Here are a few ideas:

Lovely yellow. It can’t help but make you smile and it works so well with the pinks and reds.

A bit more subdued but equally striking. I love the chalky pink paired with the black and white tiles which brings a softness to the space.

Green is such a magic colour isn’t it? The emerald shade contrasts so nicely with the crisp white walls.

The powder blue is not an obvious choice to me to pair with the rug but it does work.

Bold red. It always makes a statement and is forever enduring.

Ahhhh black. I love its classic style and look. It adds a sense of formality which suits the traditional features of this hallway.

The petrol blue on the door is picked up in the rug. Works beautifully.

It is no secret that I have a soft spot for yellow doors….inside and out! This blog started with a yellow door and I’m finishing on one too - only this time the look is entirely different. Rather than warm reds and pinks, this door works a treat against a deep moody blue.
